Seeing as it’s a new year and all that I thought it would be a good idea to look out for new contenders of best dressed 2010. So far, these lot have definately made their mark in the fashion world and are set to push it even further in the five catagories I have chosen. Celebrity couple/ band/ artist/ designer and high street brand.
Celebrity Couple- Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp.
Sean the descendent of British music legend John Lennon and is model girlfriend Charlotte are currently smashing the fashion scene at the moment from their place in New York. Favouring smart suits and playful military looks, complimented by Kemps flirty sheer dresses and lace topped off with a trilby, their eclectic style is definitely one to look out for.
Band- Kings of Leon
Despite being about for a bit, the Nashville band is not just being noted for their music but also their fashion choices. Taking it smart with a casual mix, Kings of Leon take sophistication to an indie level by wearing retro denim and leather jackets and sporting the best 70’s take on a moustache I have ever seen.
Artist- Florence from Florence and the Machine
Making her debut in 2009, her quirky style choices have made her more than a song and dance but the full package. Her style consists of clashing materials like sequins and fringing, florals and polka dots, she pushes the boundaries of normal fashion by mixing it up a bit to suit her mood.
Designer- Jonathan Saunders
His use of pastel colours and floaty materials will be great for the spring and summer season. Saunders take on the knee high dress adds a sophisticated edge to his recent collection, great with a pair of heels. What’s even better is that he’s doing a collaboration with Topshop this year.
High street brand- New Look
You can’t get more high street than New Look, but I have noticed lately that they are upping their game by introducing a limited edition range which features some great unique dresses, as well as an affordable shoe range which go beyond the mainstream footwear choices and offering something a little bit alternative.
